Lucky Lucy

Ok so, after my month-long hiatus I'm back with a new pic for you all to see. Now, it's my first attempt at using Painter but I think it turned out fine. Of course there's plenty of room for improvement but whatever, I like it. The picture is supposed to represent a sort of oxymoron, with the character's name being 'Lucky Lucy' and her rocket breaking down on her.

I suppose I could've done more in the way of a background, but everything I tried felt out of place. I figured I might as well just let it be finished in the state where I was comfortable looking at it, and not force another element into the picture. It's been the downfall of much of my work in the past.

Anyway, I hope you all enjoy 'Lucky Lucy', and be sure to let me know if you'd like to see me start doing do a daily drawing type thing.

I like this piece its really cool...I love the irony of the picture lol... It is very good Aaron, keep up the great work! And dont worry about backgrounds...it looks just fine with it being plain.

I like it. It's a cool pose and a good idea. But. I think you're falling too much in love with the "painterly" side of painter and it's making you lose your form. The net result is that parts of the painting aren't as well defined and it looks unfinished. It's a tricky thing to balance expressionism with realism and trying not to lose your forms.

A good first attempt, but I know that you can do better.

Um...thanks Ross. I'm not used to seeing anyone comment here other than My buddies Sean, Chris, and Ben so it's nice to know my art has been seen by someone other than those I pretty much force it upon :)

Quick question. I only know one Ross, from Highland Park Sr. High. Would you be him?
